Just another day

In my practicum we are finishing up with my lesson from over a week ago. The seventh grade had a crazy schedule last week and so we are spending what seems like forever on Early Ancient Civilizations-Sumer. Hopefully this week will begin new discussions and activities. The students of course have done an amazing job with the Sumer lesson(s) so I'm excited to see what the teacher will do next. In a couple of weeks I'll do my observation for Cook and I hope by that time I'm re-energized for History/Social Studies. Does anyone else feel a little burnt out? I'm beginning to get nervous about being able to do student teaching and well the first two years of teaching too.

I know what you mean when you say that there is nothing to exciting going on in the classroom. All we can do is just hope for exciting material next week. Goood Luck!

I'm burnt out on homework and busy work in general. I wish NKU started the fall semester on Aug. 13th so we can have an entire week for Fall Break. I need that week to catch up and get away from everything. 2 days isn't nearly enough.

I agree. I am not taking any classes after this one, because I have been going full time since January. Some units of instruction are not as exciting as others, but I believe that if the teacher (we) come across as being enthusiastic and motivating, the students have a much more chance of being motivated as well. Have a good fall break!
